Today we’re excited to announce that we’ve launched a new Froxt cluster in Brazil!
The new cluster (FC1, based in São Paulo) allows you to achieve lower latencies for realtime app users in the Latin America region. Building with fc1 also makes it much easier to comply with newer local regulations concerning the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) – the Brazilian General Data Protection Law which came into force in 2020.
Building realtime with Froxt’s São Paulo cluster
To get started, you’ll need to select the São Paulo (fc1) cluster when you create a new app with Froxt CI Registry:
In your Froxt clients, specify fc1 for APP_CLUSTER
to use this cluster.
If you have an existing Froxt CI app, you won’t be able to change its cluster. If you want to change the cluster for an app in production, you’ll need to migrate it to a new app to ensure that your users don’t experience service disruption.
Growing for Latin America
We’ve been really excited to see our community in the Latin America region growing at an extraordinary pace this year. We’re always building with you in mind and we’re excited to see what you build on the fc1 cluster!
Keep your eyes open for more exciting announcements in 2022…and in the meantime, where are you building? Where do you want to see our next new cluster? For larger customers, we are able to deploy dedicated clusters to any region, you can contact our team to learn more.
